In a short year and a half Fly,Frankie,Fly, the brainchild of enigmatic front man Frankie, are now a force to be reckoned with. Frankie and Matt have moved from creating beats in a living room to recording in studios and playing huge shows across the country.
Performing alongside acts such as Example, Unicorn Kid, Shy Child and I Haunt Wizards, their powerful stage presence is what defines them and brings the music to life. The evident pleasure transcends from the stage to the crowd, who have grown with increasing pace. From the incredibly loyal online supporters who have witnessed their progression; to the new faces drawn in by the duo’s charisma and catchy hooks.
Their tribal theme, which has run since Fly,Frankie,Fly’s conception in 2009, has also truly caught on. It manifests itself most obviously at shows, where a face paint and feather adorned crowd adoringly sing along to every word.
The band’s connection with their online supporters plays a large part in their growing success. The decision to release a free online copy of their demo in 2010 was been met with outstanding response. The number of downloads highly exceeded expectation and saw the Fly,Frankie,Fly name quickly spread.
There is no doubt that their original sound has the potential to breathe new life into an increasingly predictable music scene. They are set to release their debut album in May 2011 and will be appearing at numerous festivals over the summer.
