Lighthouses are a three piece band that mix the best parts of a live electronic band with the nonstop pace of a world class DJ set. Their live shows relentlessly keeps the pace up with room shaking dance songs, catchy vocals and blistering guitars to keep the audience permanently on their toes.
They have been variously described as “Bloc Party meets Justice”, “Daft Punk crossed with Soulwax” “Death from Above versus Delphic”… but really they’re a band with a fire in their belly and their hearts on their sleeve; more concerned with music to make people dance than following the curve, three piece electro band Lighthouses have been busily making a name for themselves with their hectic live shows and their eclectic releases and remixes.
Their staunch live reputation has garnered them support slots with the likes of Alex Metric, Autokratz, South Central, Feadz, Mason, David E Sugar, Mini Viva, Get Shakes, LA Shark and many more. They were featured on Gill Mills’ “Best of Myspace” podcast and won the week’s heat to be featured on NME Radio. Their remix of Chew Lips’ song “Slick” was hand picked by the band as a prize winner and a number of their remixes have won honours and plaudits in competitions worldwide.
In 2011 Lighthouses are furiously working away on their debut EP and booking gigs and festivals throughout the UK . In March their demo, for BBC Introducing, of the track “Control” was hand picked by presenters and producers and fast tracked onto the Radio 1 Playlist.
